THE SHORT ANSWER

WHAT IS A LOOKUMADES FRANCHISE?

A Lookumades franchise is a turnkey operation: one investment covers everything you need to open a store ready to trade. You run it in an agreed territory using our menu, brand, training and operating standards, and we train your team and support your launch.

Lookumades sells hot Greek loukoumades made to order, gelato made in store and Australian style coffee. The Canterbury flagship has traded since November 2025, and it is where recipes, service and team training are tested and refined.

If you’re looking for something simple, this isn’t it.

You’re not meant to understand this straight away. Most people don’t, until they’re in it.

But if you’re the kind of person who sees this and leans in, you’ll understand exactly what this is.

We built it to create demand. Big difference.

A SYSTEM, NOT JUST A SHOP

THE SYSTEM
BEHIND THE SHOP.

Six things a Lookumades Franchisee starts with, each one real and in use in Canterbury today.

  1. 01 / TRAINING

    Certified before they serve.

Team members are trained and certified through the Lookumades Training Passport, so standards are checked, not assumed.

  2. 02 / STANDARDS

Written down, not carried in heads.

Our operating standards are written into a store manual, so they can be taught, checked and repeated.

  3. 03 / TECHNOLOGY

    Working tools from day one.

Ordering, payments, rewards and inventory run through Toast, with delivery through Deliveroo.

  4. 04 / SUPPLY

A supply chain with named partners.

Single origin Brazilian coffee from Fazenda Mió and ceremonial grade matcha from Kyo’s Matcha. More partners are confirmed in discovery.

  5. 05 / BRAND

A brand with habits built in.

Looki, the Lookumates loyalty club and The Drop give every store marketing it can run from opening day.

  6. 06 / SUPPORT

    Someone to call.

CLIFF
WHITE

A FRIENDSHIP. AN IDEA. A CANTERBURY BEGINNING.

Adam Papa-Adams leads franchise finance and compliance. Of Greek Cypriot heritage, he grew up with loukoumades, and that connection sits at the heart of the brand.

Cliff White has spent around forty years in franchising as a franchisee, franchisee council chair, entrepreneur and franchisor. He has seen both sides of the franchise table, and he built the Lookumades system with that in mind.

Canterbury is where their experience meets the everyday reality of running a store. Final approval of every Franchisee rests with Adam and Cliff.

INDULGENCE WITH STANDARDS.

For Adam and Cliff, the ambition is about more than opening stores. It starts with exceptional ingredients, generous hospitality and a team that cares about every detail. Those are the standards they want every Lookumades Franchisee to share.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

FRANCHISE QUESTIONS,
ANSWERED.

The ten questions we hear most, answered plainly. If yours is not here, ask it in your enquiry and we will answer it on the first call.

What is a Lookumades franchise?

A Lookumades franchise is a turnkey operation: one investment covers everything you need to open a store ready to trade. You run it in an agreed territory using our menu, brand, training and operating standards, and we train your team and support your launch.

How much does it cost to open a Lookumades?

Investment starts from £135,000 and is turnkey, with franchise fees included. The final figure depends on the format and the site. We share the full breakdown and the verified trading pack in person, once a confidentiality agreement is signed. Historic trading is never a guarantee of future performance.

Do I need hospitality experience?

Experience helps, but it is not the whole story. We look for leaders who will be visibly involved, who are comfortable managing a team and who will follow shared standards. We assess every applicant individually.

Which territories are available?

We confirm territories one by one. Browse the map, shortlist up to three areas, and we confirm availability with you. An enquiry does not reserve a territory.

Can I run more than one store?

Yes. We talk to single store Franchisees and to area developers who want several territories.

What training and support do I get?

Your team is trained and certified through the Lookumades Training Passport. Our operating standards are written into a store manual, and you have a named contact at Lookumades from signing through opening and beyond.

How long does it take from enquiry to opening?

It depends on finding the right site and completing the fit out, so we agree a plan with each Franchisee instead of quoting a headline figure.

Who owns Lookumades?

Lookumades Franchising Ltd, company number 15663451, registered at 29A St Margaret’s Street, Canterbury, Kent CT1 2TG. The founders are Adam Papa-Adams and Cliff White. The UK trade mark is UK00004394888.

Do you franchise outside the UK?

We are focused on the UK and Ireland. Master franchise enquiries from other countries are considered case by case.

What happens after I enquire?

Our franchise development team replies, asks about you and your target area, and arranges a first call. Final approval of every Franchisee rests with Adam and Cliff.
